Abstract
The parameterization of cloud microphysical processes is a fundamental and critically important task for numerical weather prediction and climate forecasting. Current two-moment cloud microphysics schemes exhibit significant errors in describing cloud microphysical processes. Through rigorous mathematical derivation and numerical simulations of microphysical processes, we have established internationally leading three-moment cloud droplet condensation schemes and an analytical solution scheme for raindrop formation. When compared with the analytical solution (which has an analytical solution for the growth of a single cloud droplet without considering curvature and solute effects), the simulation errors of cloud droplet liquid water content and radar reflectivity factor using our condensation growth scheme are within 1%, greatly improving the accuracy of cloud droplet size simulation compared with existing major schemes. Using the IAP-LACS warm cloud scheme, we established a WRF regional weather forecast system and accurately predicted the landfall time, movement path, and precipitation distribution of Typhoon "Bawi." This report provides a detailed analysis of the evolution of cloud droplet spectra and raindrop spectra during the landfall process of "Bawi," as well as their impact on precipitation amount and distribution.
